Hello nail art enthusiasts! We are getting some warmer spring weather which has been nice. Not too hot and not too cold. This is my favorite time of year weather wise. It’s been lovely. I also have OPI’s new spring collection for review as well. This is the OPI collab with Xbox. There are 6 crèmes and 6 shimmers. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this collection.
Achievement Unlocked
Achievement Unlocked is a cool toned purple lilac crème. This is one of two purples in this collection. It applied nicely and it was opaque in 2 coats. This is the “Hero” shade. It is my favorite of the purples since it’s the cooler toned purple. This is a perfect color for spring. It looks like lilacs or wisteria.
Can’t CTRL Me
Can’t CTRL Me is a cool toned sky blue shimmer. The shimmer is hard to see once it’s dry but it is still a nice color. This applied more like a crème even though it’s a shimmer. It was opaque in 2 coats.
Heart and Con-Soul
Heart and Con-Soul is a warm toned red jelly base with a red, magenta and coppery shimmer running throughout. This color is bright and really catches the light. Since this is a jelly base, it took 3 coats to be opaque but still applied nicely.
N00Berry
N00Berry is a warm toned deep berry purple crème. This is the darker warmer purple in this collection. It is creamy and applied nicely and opaque in 2 coats. If you don’t want a pastel color, this purple will be great.
Pixel Dust
Pixel Dust is a bright pink jelly shimmer base with silver flakes throughout. The silver in this polish makes it a cool toned pink. It was easy to apply and almost reminds me of a foil gel. This is a little sheer, so it did take 3 coats to be opaque.
Quest for Quartz
Quest for Quartz is a nude mauve-pink crème base with tiny silver micro flakes. The shimmer is subtle but just enough that it gives this polish a pop. It applied so creamy and was opaque in 2 coats. I love my pinks, so this color is right up my alley. This is my favorite color from this collection.
Racing for Pinks
Racing for Pinks is a bright medium pink crème with a slight coral tint. Even though this pink is bright it’s not too bright that it should be a summer pink. I loved this pink as well. It applied beautifully and was opaque in 2 creamy coats.
Sage Simulation
Sage Simulation is a blue toned green shimmer with green/gold shimmer running throughout. This is sheerer than Can’t CTRL Me but very similar formula. The blue to green shimmer shift is hard to see but it’s there. In the swatch photo, it does appear more blue, and when you see it next to Can’t CTRL Me it appears more green. This was opaque for me in 2 coats.
Suzi is My Avatar
Suzi is My Avatar is a coral pink crème. If Racing for Pinks and Trading Paint had a baby, Suzi is My Avatar is that baby. This is a fun, bright spring coral. It was creamy and opaque in 2 coats.
The Pass is Always Greener
The Pass is Always Greener is a bright but light yellow-green crème. This green is the perfect spring green. It was a little patchy on the first coat, but evened out and was opaque on the second coat. Even though I prefer cool-toned colors, this green is a win in my book.
Trading Paint
Trading Paint is an apricot orange crème. It is light but not pastel and is a warm toned orange. This reminded me of mandarin oranges and was juicy and opaque in 2 creamy coats.
You Had Me at Halo
You Had Me at Halo is a periwinkle blue shimmer with lighter blue and silver shimmer specs. It leans a little purple. This is sheer but is such a pretty color. This is definitely a dimensional color. The swatch photo is 3 coats, but it still not quite opaque. It applied easily.
My Thoughts
This collection is fun and fits spring. With there being 6 crèmes and 6 shimmers, there is a formula and a color that will suit everyone. There are light colors, bright colors and dimensional colors. My favorite colors are Achievement Unlocked, Quest for Quartz, Racing for Pinks, Suzi is My Avatar and The Pass is Always Greener. These colors just spoke to me and I can see a fun skittles mani with these colors. Yes most of them are crèmes but that’s just my favorite formula. You Had Me at Halo I think is going to be a fan favorite, and there is nothing like it that I can think of that OPI has already done, so no dupes for that one. Whether you are new to OPI or a seasoned collector, this collection is one to pick up. Purchase one or the whole collection from our site here.
