OPI Terribly Nice Holiday 2023 Swatch & Review

Hello nail art enthusiasts!  Holiday time is in full swing for most, and I already have my tree up.  I have a swatch and review for the OPI Terribly Nice collection for Holiday 2023.  There are 14 shades in this collection with a mix of crèmes, glitters, and shimmers.  There is sure to be something for everyone on your nice list.  Let’s get into this collection.

Blame the Mistletoe

Blame the Mistletoe is a fuchsia base with a warm toned shimmer.  This color reminds me of holly berries.  Application was smooth and I didn’t have any issues with brush strokes.  This was opaque for me in two coats, but depending on your application, you may need three coats.

Chill ‘Em with Kindness

Chill ‘Em with Kindness is a milky white base with a fuchsia to lilac to blue shimmer.  The shimmer shifts are best seen at extreme angles or if applied over a darker color.  This was easy to apply and was opaque for me in two coats.  Depending on your application, three coats may be needed.  This was one of my favorite colors in this collection.  It reminds me of snow.

Five Golden Flings

Five Golden Flings is a semi sheer tan base with bronze and white flake glitters.  The formula was a little thicker but not difficult to work with.  This is a different take on your typical holiday gold colors.  I think it will be a love it or hate it color.  I reached full opacity in two coats.

Hot & Coaled

Hot & Coaled is a jelly black base with a fine shimmer and a multi-colored glitter.  This color would be good for a New Years celebration.  The formula was a little thick with the larger glitters, so make sure you use a good top coat.  With the jelly base, you may need up to three coats, but I used two for the photo.

Hot Toddy Naughty

Hot Toddy Naughty is a deep brown base with a warm coppery shimmer.  This is like a spiced up hot chocolate on the nails.  The application was smooth and I didn’t have any issues with brush strokes.  This was opaque for me in two coats.

It’s A Wonderful Spice

It’s A Wonderful Spice is a jelly salmon base with bronze and white flake glitters.  This formula was also a little thicker but still easy to work with.  This has the same glitter flakes as two other colors in this collection.  It may also be a love it or hate it color.  For me, this color kind of threw me off as far as a “holiday” color.  I used two coats for the photo.

Let’s Scrooge

Let’s Scrooge is a teal green base with a dark blue shimmer.  This is such a pretty color and one of my favorites.  Application was easy with no brush strokes.  I used two coats for the photo.

Peppermint Bark and Bite

Peppermint Bark and Bite is a jelly forest green base with a scattered silver shimmer.  This is such a pretty dark green and looks like a christmas tree.  It may look almost black in some lighting.  Application was smooth with no visible brush strokes.  I used two coats for the photo.

Put On Something Ice

Put On Something Ice is a clear base with a densely packed shimmer that shifts from pink to purple to blue and larger multi-colored glitters.  The formula was a little thicker due to the glitters, but it was still easy to apply.  This is meant to be a topper, but I used two coats on its own for the photo.  This is also one of my favorites.

Rebel with a Clause

Rebel with a Clause is a classic bright christmas red crème.  OPI knows how to do a red.  Yes, many people have reds just like this, but what is a holiday collection without a classic red?  Application was easy and creamy.  This was opaque for me in one coat.

Salty Sweet Nothings

Salty Sweet Nothings is a nude jelly base with a white shimmer and white and silver flakies.  This would be another color that would be good for a New Years celebration in my opinion.  Reminds me of champagne.  Application was smooth and easy.  I used two coats for the photo.

Shaking My Sugarplums

Shaking My Sugarplums is a sheer blue-purple base with a pink to purple to blue shifting shimmer.  This is such a pretty color, but I feel the shift in the bottle is much better than it shows on the nails.  Depending on the look you’re going for will determine how many coats to use.  I used two for the photo and you can see, it’s still pretty sheer.

Sickeningly Sweet

Sickeningly Sweet is a medium lavender crème.  This color reminds me of watching sunrises on a cold winter morning growing up.  Application was smooth and creamy.  I achieved full opacity in two coats.

Yah or Neigh

Yay or Neigh is a sheer gray base with bronze and white flake glitters.  This I believe, will be another love it or hate it color.  This was one of my least favorite out of the collection.  I don’t hate it, but holidays doesn’t come to mind when I see this color.  The formula was a little thicker but still easy to work with.  I used two coats for the photo.

My Thought

Overall, I think this is a good collection.  There are a few color choices that have me scratching my head, but that is just my opinion.  My favorites were Chill ‘Em with Kindness and Put On Something Ice.  Maybe I’m craving snow, since it doesn’t snow where I live?  What ones were your favorites?  You can pick these up from my online store OPI Terribly Nice.
