Christmas is over and it was time for me to change my mani. I wanted something that still said “winter” but not “Christmas”. I also wanted a look that wouldn’t take too long to achieve as I didn’t have a ton of time to complete it in. While searching for winter nail inspirations, I noticed that blues were a popular color. To be honest, I don’t do many blue nail looks so I thought I’d give it a go. I knew I didn’t want a light blue. Light blue reminded me of Frozen and I didn’t feel like that kind of look. I also didn’t want such a dark blue that it was hard to see. The blue I chose is a darker medium toned blue.
Getting Started
I have acrylic nails, so I began by applying Young Nails Protein Bond. Next, I applied 2 coats of UR Sugar potted gel in the color G10 to all of my nails with the exception of the ring finger. On the ring finger I used Light Elegance Tiny Diamond. For the index finger, I chose an image from the Maniology plate and stamped the image with the Born Pretty stamping polish in 04 (white). I cleaned up the excess stamping polish with a cotton swab and some acetone. Normally I use a liquid latex barrier before stamping, however, this was a white polish and I knew I wouldn’t have a lot of clean up to do. I applied Estemio Art Top Gel to all of my nails. Lastly, all fingers were finished with cuticle oil.
I like how this look came out. Wintery, not Christmasy. I hope you enjoy it!
