China Glaze Welcome To Jollywood Swatch and Review

Hello nail art enthusiasts!  Happy Holidays to everyone.  I am doing a swatch and review of the China Glaze Welcome to Jollywood Holiday 2020 collection.  There are 12 colors in this collection.  This collection has an array of metallics, glitters and shimmers, all of them perfect for the holidays.  The collection can be purchased on our store site here.  Keep reading to see what my thoughts are of this collection.

Santa Monica Claus is described by China Glaze as a red-gold shimmer.  This polish has a medium red base with red and gold shimmer running throughout.  It was opaque for me in 2 coats.  The shimmer definitely gives this polish dimension and is sure to be a favorite.

Tinsel Town is described by China Glaze as a silver shimmer.  This polish is a pretty silver base packed with tons of silver shimmer.  Tinsel Town is definitely a bright silver.  It was opaque for me in 2 coats.

Slay Your Line is described by China Glaze as a silver-blue shimmer.  This polish has a blue-purple tinted base loaded with silver shimmer.  Depending on the light, the polish looks blue or purple.  In my picture, it looks more purple than blue.  It was opaque for me in 2 coats.

Melrose Fireplace is described by China Glaze as a champagne gold shimmer.  This polish has a light tan base with gold shimmer and tiny square gold micro glitters.  The micro glitters are what gives this polish depth and sparkle.  This was opaque for me in 2 coats.

Famous Fir Sure is described by China Glaze as a green metallic.  This polish has a light green base with green and gold shimmer.  The brush strokes can be seen but with careful application, they can be minimized.  This was opaque for me in 2 coats.

Screen Vixen is described by China Glaze as a gold shimmer matte.  This polish has a golden tan base with gold and silver shimmer.  With both gold and silver shimmers in the polish, it keeps the polish more of a coppery gold.  I did this with a top coat as well as matte.  The top coat really brings out the shimmer.  This was opaque for me in 2 coats.

Silent Nightlife is described by China Glaze as a lavender shimmer crème.  I would describe this polish as a lavender metallic with a slight silvery shimmer.  You can see brush strokes with this polish, but with careful application it can be minimized.  The color was opaque for me in 2 coats.

Snow Biz is described by China Glaze as a silver gray shimmer.  I would describe this polish as a silver gray shimmer but it does have purple and teal flecks when the light hits it just right.  You can see the flecks in my picture, both on my nails and in the bottle.  This was opaque for me in 2 coats.

Yule Jewels is described by China Glaze as a light red lacquer with holographic flakes.  I describe this as an orange-red jelly base with red and gold micro flakes.  I didn’t see holographic flakes.  Maybe it is the base that covers the holographic-ness of the flakes, but I only saw red and gold.  Since this is more of a jelly base, it took 3 coats to be opaque for me.

Celebri-Tree is described by China Glaze as an emerald tinsel.  This is a medium to dark green jelly base with small silver bar glitters as well as silver micro glitters.  I only did 2 coats for this picture but you could sponge on the second or third coat to really pack the glitters and and ensure opacity.

Valet the Sleigh is described by China Glaze as a purple glitter.  This has a lavender base loaded with dark purple, silver and fuchsia micro glitters.  This is a really pretty purple.  It’s not too dark and not too light.  This was opaque for me in 2 coats.

Deck the Malls is described by China Glaze as a sultry dark blue glitter.  It has a deep blue base with light blue silvery rectangle micro glitters.  The glitters are what makes this dark blue pop and a perfect holiday blue.  This was opaque for me in 2 coats.

My Thoughts

I liked every single one of these polishes.  While I prefer a wider brush, the new larger brush from China Glaze made it easier to apply than older China Glaze polishes I own.  I would recommend sponging on a coat of the Celebri-Tree if you want more opacity and glitters.  All of the other polishes applied easily and are very festive.  Pick up your favorite colors from our store.
